Air India, ANA Sign Codeshare Agreement

Tata-owned Air India and Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) have entered into a codeshare agreement, enhancing flight choices between India and Japan. This partnership, effective from May 23, will allow passengers to combine flights between the two countries under a single ticket, offering seamless travel experiences.

Under the agreement, Air India will apply its 'AI' designator code to ANA's flights between Tokyo Haneda and Delhi, as well as Tokyo Narita and Mumbai. ANA will reciprocate by adding its 'NH' code to Air India's flights between Tokyo Narita and Delhi.

The collaboration provides passengers with access to premium services, including lounge access and priority boarding, available to Star Alliance members. Tickets for these flights will be available for sale from April 23, 2024.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer at Air India, stated, “This codeshare agreement with ANA marks a significant step forward in connecting India and Japan. It broadens our network connectivity and offers guests a wider choice of flights between the two countries. We anticipate a successful collaboration with ANA and look forward to exploring further avenues for cooperation”.

Katsuya Goto, Executive Vice President of Alliances and International Affairs at ANA, emphasized the partnership's role in enhancing the air travel experience between the two nations, adding that the collaboration signifies ANA's commitment to improving the travel environment.
