50 Pesos of Mexico



Pesos are the currency of Mexico and are the 12th most traded currency in the world.  50 Pesos was a runner-up for the Best New Bank Note, 2011. This note has the portrait of Jose Maria Morelos, a priest and a talented field marshal who fought in Mexico's War of Independence. The 50 Pesos is made of layered plastic polymer and the color changes when tilted. Though printing a polymer note costs twice than a paper note, but it lasts about five times longer than a paper bill.

1,000 Kronor of Sweden



The Kronor have been the currency of Sweden since 1873. The 1,000 Kronor was also a runner-up for Best New Bank Note. It integrates unique watermarks and is the first one to employ the microlens strip. Another interest feature of this note is a moving image in the striped band that displays the denomination of 1,000 Kronor and a crown, when the note is tilted.
