Bangalore: The Sony’s flagship smartphone Xperia S is now heading up to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system by the end of May or early June.
“Xperia S is planned to get ICS somewhere around late May/early June. That’s what’s been said and that’s still what we’re sticking to,” wrote Sony in its official forum post.
For those who don’t know, the Xperia S currently runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It sports a stunning 4.3 inch high definition touchscreen display with 1280x720 pixels of resolution, 12 MP rear facing camera with Sony Exmor R image sensor, capable of 1080p video recording, 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calling and chats, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage memory and for connectivity it has HSPA, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS, HDMI and NFC. This high end smartphone is priced at Rs.32,549.
