Bangalore: Apple was the first to introduce the innovative voice assistant application called Siri, especially for iPhone 4S, but many developers have offered Siri to other iOS devices. Recently Samsung showcased its flagship smartphone Galaxy S III along with a voice assistant application called S-Voice as a competitor for iPhone 4S Siri.

Like Apple, developers at XDA forums have offered the S-Voice to other Android 4.0 devices via jailbreak, whereas the company especially made S-Voice application for Galaxy S III. It seems that Samsung has facing the same dilemma and have now blocked S-Voice from being used on any other devices.

One of the XDA members provide details in a post about the script which is used to jailbreak other Android devices except S III for accessing this feature, they receive an error message that states; 63.116.58.58 10.8.0.1 HTTP 340 HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found
Expert Info (Chat/Sequence): HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found 404

As per a report by TNW, “The S-Voice APK, which contained services that were exclusive to the Galaxy S III, allowed owners of other Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphones to install Samsung’s new voice assistant (its Siri rival) and perform commands on their devices. It appears that in the last 24 hours, Samsung (and it is partner Vlingo, the technology behind the voice functions) have begun detecting requests from non-supported devices and blocking them, displaying the message: “Network Error. Please Try Again” reports Tech2.

Samsung has added lots of new features in S3 like S-Voice, direct call, wireless charging and many more. It seems the company doesn’t want to share these feature other than S III.
