BANGALORE: The mobile market is flooded with budget handsets from various top brands with many others also joining the competition and scoring fairly. After Samsung, Motorola, and BlackBerry, Sony is the latest company to jump into the budget-friendly SmartPhone category.

The upcoming launch of the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact at the IFA,

the global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, in September this year is worth the wait as it is expected come with a lower price tag. Apart from these handsets, apparently another device with a huge 6 inch display will join the launch this year; reports The Times of India.

This SmartPhone sporting the moniker Sony D2203 popped up on GFXBench, a platform for comparing gadgets. According to the site, it has a big display but the resolution is a disappointingly low at 854x480 pixels.

If this probable phone is launched with the said low screen resolution, it will be a huge disappointment for users as the pictures and video viewing experience will be affected.

The reported handset would be powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP primary camera, 4GB of internal memory and is expected to run on Android 4.4.2. With these features decked in, the Sony D2203 is tailor-made for low-budget section.

Sony has only recently announced the 5.3-inch mid-range Xperia T3, so this would not be the first big-screened SmartPhone from the company to dip outside the high-end bracket.

Adding to the rumored launch of the budget phone, the report added that there is some uncertainty over the launch of Sony D2203; but users would do well to keep their curious eyes open, as it seems to be a good budget-friendly SmartPhone.
