Bangalore: In a couple of years you will see a revolution of glass technology which will renovate the whole look and feel of consumer electronics. Major tech-companies are bidding large to come up with incredible glass technology in their devices like smartphones, smartwatches, tablets and ultrabooks. Go through the storyline that showcases the breakthrough in this field of glass and have a blueprint of how the future will look like.

Corning Needs Flexible Glass:

The birth of tough, scratch resistant and beautiful Gorilla Glass took place way back in 1960s in the labs of Corning. At that time there were no buyers for these glasses and the company stopped the production. In 2006 when the first smartphone from Apple was taking its shape, Steve Jobs, the late founder and CEO of Apple contacted Corning after realizing the need of such a kind of glass and there came our first iPhone with those gorgeous scratch free screens.

When the smartphone and tablet market boomed, these Gorilla Glasses took a great leap forward. An improved version named Gorilla Glass II has been introduced which is much lighter, thinner and durable. Recently Samsung and Corning has teamed up to come up with flexible displays which will make the next generation gadgets much more thinner, lighter, unbreakable and of course good-looking with some curves.
