Bangalore: Asus has unveiled PadFone Infinity- a Smartphone which turns into a tablet when it is plugged into 10.1 inch dock, at the ongoing WMC in Barcelona, reports Mashable.

The Smartphone-tablet convertible concept is quite unique to Asus, and it had previously launched two such devices— the original PadFone and the PadFone 2, which launched in October 2012. However the new PadFone Infinity comes at the higher specs, it sports a 5-inch screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution (that's 441ppi), a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, an Adreno 320 Graphics processor.

The device runs on Android 4.2 and also supports LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and NFC. On the back there’s a 13-megapixel camera that incorporates technology to help capture more details and improve low-light performance. There’s also a front-facing camera of two-megapixel.

Plug the PadFone into the tablet dock, and you've got yourself a 10.1-inch tablet with the same specs, and sound more than capable of going head-to-head against standalone tablets.
