Swiggy announced its latest expansion, catering to tourists residing on houseboats along Dal Lake in Srinagar. Teaming up with local Shikara operators, the online food delivery giant ensures seamless delivery to the doorstep of these unique accommodations. Sidharth Bhakoo, Swiggy Food's National Head of Business, highlighted the initiative's alignment with the company's commitment to unmatched convenience for consumers. The collaboration aims to meet diverse customer needs, whether exploring city streets or enjoying the tranquility of houseboat life.

Acknowledging the potential time constraints of waterway deliveries, Swiggy pledges appropriate compensation for its delivery partners. This move not only broadens restaurant outreach but also presents an opportunity for culinary establishments to showcase their offerings in unconventional settings. Since its inception in Srinagar in 2022, Swiggy has onboarded over 300 restaurants, providing locals and tourists with an extensive range of cuisines.

This expansion is part of Swiggy's broader strategy, which spans across 600+ cities, collaborating with nearly two lakh restaurants nationwide. By leveraging partnerships and innovative delivery methods, Swiggy continues to enhance accessibility to quality food, reaffirming its position as a leading player in the online food delivery sector.
