Get Ready to Cruise High in the Air, Flying Car is on its Way!

BENGALURU: In the year 1940, Henry Ford said, “Mark my word: A combination of airplane and motorcar is coming. You may smile, but it will come.” Flying car was popularly filmed in ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Star Trek’, and today the concept of flying cars is becoming a reality. Of the many projects running around the globe to build a flying car, recently a Slovakian company AeroMobil’s is the first to design a flying car which is all set to become commercial as reported by the Economic Times.  

This Slovakian Company has made about three prototypes of which Aeromobil 3.0 is the latest and the upgraded version. AeroMobil 3.0 flying car is powered by a propeller on the back and is provided with two seats. The propeller may seem vintage style but when this ‘Transformer’ gets ready to fly, its wings automatically extend out to takeoff with just a push of button.

The flying car just needs 800 feet of runway to get the car on air. The car can fly at about 320kmph and on road has the top speed of about 160kmph. AeroMobil 3.0 consumes unleaded petrol from the usual fuel station. It has a flying range of 700km and has completed 20 test flights. The 6 meter long and 2.4 meter wide body allows AeroMobil to easily fit in any standard parking space.

If you want to have a nap while riding the AeroMobil 3.0 then you can as this flying car features a partial autopilot system.  The company has also taken safety in account and has provided parachutes in case of any mishaps. The main objective of flying cars is to reduce the travel time and skip traffic jams on roads. With all such benefits, the AeroMobil 3.0 may be priced with thousands of dollars.
