BENGALURU: Midst the Paris Motor Show 2016, Audi unfolded their new RS 3 versions—RS 3 Sedan and RS 3 LMS. These two models were revealed along with Audi Q5 which is set to hot on the heels in year 2018. The RS 3 models are a bit compact sedan version whose predecessor version was Audi’s Sportback hatch form.

Unveiling these new models of RS 3, the sedan version is a hulk generating 400 horsepower from a five-cylinder turbo engine. It can also go from standstill to 100kmph in just 4.1 seconds with a whooping speed to 250kmph but an optimal package accelerates to a speed of 280kmph. The power is managed by a 7-speed dual clutch transmission coupled with Quattro all-wheel drive.

Audi’s new model—sports version ‘RS 3 LMS’ is a racing version developed by Audi Sport for Touring Car Racing (TCR) category. This sporting car is powered with an engine which has been minimized from five-cylinder to four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0liter TFSI engine. It runs with 330 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.5 seconds reaching to 240kmph maximum speed.

It is still disappointing to see that the RS 3 LMS is a bit slower than RS 3 sedan version, but the sports version has an FIA-approved fuel tank. Audi RS 3 LMS also features racing safety cell, safety bucket seat and roof-mounted release hatch. All these embedded racing inventories make RS 3 LMS powerful to get ready for the TCR racing in 2017.

Pricing for RS 3 sedan has not been announced but is expected to be around 50,000 USD while the RS 3 LMS will be price tagged around 111,200 USD, reports Times of India. The sedan version will drive into showrooms in the year 2017.
