Davos agenda

The WEF Davos Agenda 2022 calls for mission LIFE (lifestyle for the environment). This year will be the second consecutive year where the WEF is held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will be addressed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva. Many pressing issues are important, like Covid, climate change, cryptocurrency, reforms and initiatives. So it marks a prestigious moment for India to be highlighted in various sectors that will be reformed and bring in front the historical achievements attained by us in previous years in the event Worldwide.

At the WEF Davos Agenda, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed and delivered a 'State of the World' speech. The focus goes on the importance of changes in lifestyle as an important weapon to fight climate change. Hence the issue engaged the world leaders to make mission LIFE (lifestyle for the environment)- call given by India at UN Climate Conference (COP26) in Glasgow last year- a " global mass movement," and pitched for 'Pro Planet People (P-3) approach for a sustainable future.

In India, it is observed that huge numbers of software engineers and about 50 lakh software developers are working in the country and informed that India is the third-largest number of startup unicorns and talking on India's huge, safe and successful digital payment platform, about 4.4 billion transactions through Unified Payments Interface.

The measures of enhancing the Ease of Doing Business and reducing government interference were also discussed where it is said to simplify corporate tax rates and make them the most competitive in the world. India has deregulated areas like Drones, Space, Geo-spatial mapping and has brought reforms in the outdated telecom regulation related to the IT and BPO sectors.

There is the need for the world to fast move towards a "circular economy" for sustainable growth and remarks a gentle reminder to the developed countries of their extravagant lifestyle that leads to waste of resources and high emissions. Thus India needs a pushing change for lifestyle to deal with the issues of climate change, wasteful expenditure, and high energy consumption in rich countries led to historical emissions that created the problem of escalating global warming. It makes "Mission Life" essential for the global mass movement.

Mission Life needs to become a global mass movement

India had become the world's pharmacy and the third-largest producer when the world was focusing aspects of intervention such as the quantitative program to go with ease in times of Covid. In a year, India has registered nearly 160 cr Covid vaccine doses. Hence democracy in India has given the whole world a bouquet of hope that contains unwavering faith towards democracy and technological developments to empower the 21st century.

The agenda becomes a keen request for all to follow the goal of 'Global good' that is important for reaching a net-zero target by 2070. As India's growth will be green, clean, sustainable, and reliable, our lifestyle is a real big-time challenge and 'Throw away' culture and consumerism have made the climate challenge very seriously, making it important for Mission 'LIFE' to become a global mass movement.

Economic Reforms

India's commitment to deep economic reforms makes it the most attractive destination for investment. When the world is focused on interventions such as the quantitative easing program during Covid, India paved the way for reform.

While the world focused on evolving programs to ease Covid, India paved the way for reforms. India is working with a deep commitment towards economic reforms, making it interesting to reach a destination for investment. In his speech, the United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres called on the leaders to take up greater mitigation ambitions to reduce greenhouse gasses.

The speech also highlights that-  Emissions must fall, but they continue to rise. Even if all developed countries kept their promises to drastically reduce emission by 2030 and mentioned, " To help key emerging economies accelerated the transition. Coal-fired power generation is surging towards a new record. There is a need calling for the creation of coalitions of countries, public and private financial institutions, investment funds, and companies with the technological know-how to provide targeted financial and technical support."

One Earth, One Health Notion

During the Covid19, India saved the lives of man by exporting essential medicines and vaccines by following its vision of ''One Earth, One Health." Today India is the third-largest manufacturer of medicines in the world. In a way, India is medicine for the world. A strong democracy like India has given a beautiful gift to the whole world." So in COVID, it's seen how India is following the vision of 'One Earth, One Health' is saving crores, and these actions have placed a prominent example before the world.

'Make in India, Make for the world'

India is going ahead with the principle of "Make in India, Make for World," thus Fostering self-reliance across sectors, saying that India will continue with its reforms to enable its vision of sustainable economic growth. Hence now is the best moment to invest in India. The government focuses on making it easier to do Business and reducing government engagement in the economy. India is moving ahead with the mantra of "Make in India" and "Make for the World."

Changes in Digital Infrastructure

According to the technology that fosters crypto, it is hard for any single government to handle the challenges linked with digital currency. The kind of technology it is associated with, and the decisions taken by a single country will be not apt to deal with such challenges. So, We have to have a similar mindset. Additionally, as the world order changes, so do the issues people face as global families. As a result, coordination by every country and global organization to combat these threats is urgently required.

Moreover, the digital infrastructure that India developed and adopted in the last few years has turned out to be a major strength for India, along with the Arogya Setu app used for the tracking of corona infection and the Co-Win portal used to track vaccination are technological solutions that India is proud of and a major step making Bigger countries have taken note of these developments.

Hence the WEF Davos Agenda 2022 brings many reformational changes that were needed to be taken place since the time society was facing challenges. Thus mission LIFE, i.e. 'Lifestyle for Environment,' is a vision focused on resilience and sustainable lifestyle that came up in handy dealing with the climate crisis and other challenges.
