Since, there are several advancements in the field of medicine; the death rate has impressively lowered over the years. Hence, companies which provide term insurance policy are benefited from the progress in the field of medicine as diabetics will pay higher premiums so that it covers the additional risks as the normal healthy person who is of the same age.

Infact, the very advancement in the medical science, is the reason why insurance companies do not provide diabetic patients with a health insurance policy.  It is said that the number of diabetics who are getting hospitalized is increasing compared to people who don’t have diabetes. This in turn increases the amount of hospital expenses.

Health insurance policies are usually made annually and it’s a rule that the insurance policy should be renewed by the company when it’s necessary. The insurance company will be affected, since the insurance will be of a long term, where there are chances of insurer becoming diabetic.

This is the core reason why insurance companies do not provide health insurance policy to the diabetics. Although, it is very important to bring systematic solutions to the problem, there are some other alternatives that are available that you can use if you are diabetic.

As there is increase in the rate of diabetic patients  in India, people are hoping that health insurance companies will come out with special policies that will be meant for them.
