Amitabh Bachchan Unveils First Poster of His TV Series 'Yudh'

BANGALORE: Being among the first to plunge into the sea of opportunities provided by television, Amitabh Bachchan started his career in Television with his hit reality show, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, aired on Sony Televisions. After Anil Kapoor wrapped up his TV series 24 aired on colors, Big B sets himself for his debut on television for a full-fledged character role. Backed with people’s love he garners, Big B recently launched the poster of his fictional TV series, ‘Yudh’ in New Delhi.



The dramatic poster of ‘Yudh’ featuring Amitabh Bachchan was launched amidst the presence of his co-stars Sarika and Aahana Kumara along with creative Director, Anurag Kashyap, creative consultant Shoojit Sircar.



The TV series has a strong cast, which also includes Kay Kay Menon, Nawazuddin Siddique and Tigmanshu Dhulia are among others.



The poster of the series presents an intense-looking Amitabh running away in a blue suit against the backdrop of sky rising buildings amidst dust. Amitabh Bachchan plays the character named Yudhishthir Sirkarwar. “I play a construction company owner. There is business rivalry and family issues along with health issues which might be terminal; how he balances is what you will get to see,” Amitabh Bachchan told reporters at the poster launch. Big B, as humble as always, said that USP of this series is its story and not him.



Yudh, a twenty part miniseries is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and is expected to go on air from July this year. Co-produced by Amitabh’s production company Saraswati Creations with Endemol India, the show is being promoted as a “first of its own kind” TV series. “TV needs change and we always complain about it. I feel it (‘Yudh’) is cinema as a TV series,” said Sircar.



Anurag Kashyap added for the praise of the series and said, though it’s made for TV, the approach towards filming it was kept like cinema, be it the script, sound design or the editing. It will be a whole lot like cinema on screen, and said that this is Bachchan at his best.
