ON Semiconductor Acquires the Global SiPM, SPAD & LiDAR Provider SensL Technologies

SensL Technologies, a technology leader specializing in Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM), Single Photon Avalance Diode (SPAD) and LiDAR sensing products for automotive, medical, industrial and consumer markets has been acquired by ON Semiconductor Corporation. The acquisition establishes ON Semiconductor as a leader in sensing solutions for autonomous driving and ADAS applications, with a comprehensive portfolio of imaging, radar, ultrasound and LiDAR technologies.

Incorporated in 2004, SensL Technologies offer a range of Silicon Photomultipliers, SPAD Arrays and Measurement Instruments. With over 500 customers, SensL’s low-light sensors have been implemented in medical imaging, biophotonics, hazard & threat detection and LiDAR. Being a leader in depth sensing technologies for more than 15 years, SensL’s CMOS based technology provides the economies of scale for cost effective solid state LiDAR solutions.
