BENGALURU: Launch of Vector’s two Smart Watches with 30 day battery life was announced in the Baselworld Show at Switzerland. Vector has declared that its two models, Luna and Meridian consist of low power operating systems, which will enable its battery to run for a life of 30 days, reports, digit.in.

These device tracks steps, calories, sleep and also tracks the distance during some activity. Vector’s smartwatches by Vector don’t come up with the touch screen facility; instead it bears 3 buttons to control the device. The appearance of the watch is too simple and comes in too different shapes. One is round dial Luna and another is rectangular Meridian. The straps can be changed as per the convenience of the user. The in-built contextual awareness system allows the watch to understand the pattern in the user’s behavior. The sensor activated notification system can remind the user of the various notification received.

The long battery life is believed to be due to monochrome memory LCD screens and low power OS. The 30 days battery life of this Smart watch is ten times more than that of the Apple Watch.

Vector’s Luna and Meridian are compatible with the iOS, android and windows operating smart phones.
All other smart watch companies are trying hard to resolve the battery issue in the wearables. Asus Zen watches claim to have a battery life of 7 days, while Apple watch’s battery lasts for only one day.

One can order the watches now from the company websites, but they will be launched officially in summer. The Meridian version will be available in $199 and the Luna at $349.
