BANGALORE: Google has unveiled its first set of Android One phones in the Indian market. The first Android One low cost SmartPhones of the search giant Google, are offered in partnership with Indian hardware vendors Spice, Micromax, and Karbonn. This is the initial step of Google in its endeavor to bring good SmartPhones at an affordable price to the larger populations.



The phones released by Spice, Micromax, and Karbonn will be available online through Flipkart, Amzon, and Snapdeal and offline via Reliance Digital, Croma, and Mobile Store, as reported by TOI

Priority OS Updates:



A Nexus-like stock Android user interface comes with all the three phones. Though there is no feature customization, it is optimized for the hardware and the vendors can also preload apps. The phone is designed to receive automatic updates as well. They will get priority OS updates directly from Google including the upcoming Android L update.



Showroom On Wheels:



WiFi equipped mobile demo trucks called ‘Showroom On Wheels’ are authorized to move around in 600 locations across 20 cities to allow its potential consumers learn more about Android One devices. Google has also appointed 30,000 ambassadors to guide the consumers at the stores.



First in India:



India is chosen as the first country to launch Android One phones. The search giant also plans to take the phone to potential markets like Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other South Asian nations.
