Tax Officials Meet to Discuss Effective Governance

New Delhi: Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, will inaugurate a two-day annual conference of officials from the customs, central excise and service tax deparments that will focus on laying down the road map for effective governance.

Chief commissioners and directors general of customs, central excise and service tax from across the country will participate at the event.

The conference will deliberate in parallel sessions through four breakaway groups of chief commissioners and directors general on "contemporaneous issues relevant to indirect tax administration with the objective of laying down road maps for effective governance," the finance ministry said in a statement.
