GMR Industries shares gain 10 percent

Bangalore: GMR Industries ended today among top gainers of the day with gain of Rs. 11.05 (9.99 percent). Throughout the day, the company traded in the range of Rs. 114.45 - Rs.121.65. In all 15,640 shares were traded throughout the day. The company has 52-weeks high value of Rs. 160.75 and low of Rs. 73.40. The stock chart for 52-weeks is given on left.

GMR Industries (GIDL) is an India-based sugar producer. GIDL is the agri-business division of GMR Group. On March 30, 2009, the company acquired 98.59 percent of interest in Alagawadi Bireshwar Sugars (ABSP). On October 15, 2008, the company completed the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in InterGen N.V. As of May 6, 2009, GMR Holdings, the promoter and holding company of the Company held a 71.67 percent interest in the Company.

Other sugar companies ended the day on mixed note with Shree Renuka Sugars and Dhampur Sugar Mills slipping 4.21 and 1.91 percent respectively, whereas Simbhaoli Sugars and Empee Sugars and Chemicals gained 1.98 and 7.83 percent, respectively.
