Buying Support Lifts Indian Equities

MUMBAI: Indian equities market traded on a flat-to-positive note during the early morning trade session on Thursday, as healthy buying was witnessed in IT, automobile and healthcare stocks.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) inched up by 10.25 points or 0.12 per cent, to 8,734.95 points.

The barometer 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 28,223.85 points, traded at 28,199.50 points (10.10 a.m.) -- up 43.94 points or 0.16 pct from the previous close at 28,155.56 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 28,264.67 points and a low of 28,146.19 points during the intra-day trade so far.
