Bangalore: For the second quarter of July – September 2012, B’town paid Advance Tax for this season. Though our celebs paid their taxes but the million dollar question arises that who is the highest tax payer among them? Well actor Salman Khan has emerged as the highest taxpayer in Bollywood by paying Rs.8 crore for this quarter, as per the IT Department. Let’s find out who else are there in this list of highest tax paying celebs:
1. Salman Khan
Tax Paid in 2012 – Rs.8 Crore
Tax Paid in 2011 – Rs.5 Crore
After a string of Rs.100 crore plus grossing films capped by his latest blockbuster, romantic action thriller 'Ek Tha Tiger', he is the numero uno star in this list.
Salman, 46, trumped all his peers and rivals in the tinsel town by paying 8 crore in advance tax in July-September this year as compared to 5 crore in the same period a year ago, told PTI.
As per industry reports, Salman charges Rs.40 crore per movie. Along with this, he has an endorsement rate of Rs.1.5 crore a day. For the past two years, he has been delivering blockbusters by strategically releasing them on the occasion of Eid.
