Bayer shares up 10 percent

Bangalore: Bayer CropScience stock ended with more than 10 percent gain, on a day when the Sensex ended 174 points in the red. Having started the day at Rs. 498, the stock touched its 52 week high of Rs. 568 during the day before closing trade at Rs. 547.55, up 10.59 percent from its previous close of Rs. 495.10. Through the day, 337,945 shares of Bayer were traded in the market with the current P/E ratio of the stock at 18.32. The 52 week stock price chart is on the left.

Bayer CropScience is a company engaged in the operation of crop protection business in India. The company's operations are focused on crop protection, seeds biotechnology and non-agricultural pest control. The company has production facilities at the Bayer sites in Thane, Himatnagar and Ankleshwar. Today, the company formed a partnership with Australia's peak vegetable industry body AUSVEG to develop marketing opportunities and share research and information on threats to vegetable crops.

Bayer will also work with AUSVEG to identify marketing opportunities for vegetables, including sharing information on successful overseas models. The one analyst following the stock currently recommends a buy rating on the stock. DSP BlackRock Equity Fund - Regular Plan holds the highest number of Bayer CropScience shares with 384,474 shares in its portfolio.
