The additional inquiry can hurt your credit score and a new credit card can hurt your chances of getting approved, unless it’s the Target debit card which doesn’t require a credit check.



I Don’t Like The Terms And Conditions:

Usually store credit cards typically have high interest rates and low credit limits, which make them unattractive for someone who can qualify for better credit cards elsewhere. The store clerk may have some rebuttals, e.g. you can pay your bill in full, but you shouldn’t sign up for any product with features you don’t like.
